When the nervous system has an opportunity to settle, the body can move out of patterns of vigilance and protection and toward greater rest, regulation, and receptivity. Through guided relaxation, breath, focused attention, imagery, Reiki, and energy-based practices, we create conditions for deep rest and inward awareness. These experiences may involve brain states associated with slower rhythms, including theta and delta activity. While these states don't magically rewrite the brain, deep relaxation, focused attention, and repeated new experiences can support the nervous system's capacity for flexibility and change. Over time, new experiences can become new associations, responses, and ways of being—loosening the grip of familiar patterns and creating space for something different to take root.
My training combines Alchemical Healing, Reiki, and Clinical Hypnosis into one experience. My Reiki training includes working with the Reiki symbols, distance healing, energetic clearing and balancing, and the deeper practices of Reiki III, including the Master-level relationship with energy and presence. Alchemical Healing expands this work through relationship with the elements and the natural world, inviting plants, animals, and elemental forces to serve as guides and metaphors for the healing process. These practices together create a gentle, experiential energy-healing exploration. At The Tending Place, I offer this work in a grounded, nondogmatic way—as an invitation to slow down, listen inward, and reconnect with the parts of yourself shaped by stress, trauma, and old ways of protecting yourself. You don't need to hold any particular spiritual beliefs for this work to be meaningful. Think of it less as something to believe in and more as a space to notice, experience, and tend to what is asking for attention.
This work is an invitation to tend rather than fix: to become curious about what your body knows, to listen for what has been waiting beneath the noise, and to draw on the natural world as a companion in the process. The elements, plants, animals, and symbolic language of nature can offer another way of understanding and relating to our inner landscapes. There is no particular belief system or outcome you need to adopt. We simply make space for what is present and tend to it with attention, curiosity, and care.
